Into the Light

This painting wasaccepted into the Salon International 2008 Juried Exhibition, in San Antonio, Texas. It was painted in the studio from reference photos I took in Venice in October 2007. This is the first piece I painted in 2008, after having made the decision January 1st to paint full time and discontinue all the other more commercial projects I've done over the last several years. This was my goal when I opened my studio just over 10 years ago. This painting, and it's title, are really a metaphor for where I was in my life and my career...at age 50, entering a new phase, coming "into the light," a very exciting place to be. I feel truly blessed.
