Painted in the studio from reference photos I took during our trip to Turkey in September 2011. This was a marketplace in the small town of Ayvalik. I loved the strong light and shadow patterns and the challenge of rendering the figures in the background in a very impressionist way. This painting was included in the 2012 Salon International Juried Exhibition at Greenhouse Gallery, San Antonio, Texas.
