I painted this piece at Three Springs, a Land Trust property, during the 2011 Door County Plein Air Festival. I had just begun sketching the barn and the shadows formed by the trees when this 1930 Ford Station Wagon came down into the clearing where I was standing. I about flipped...it was just what my scene needed! The owners were kind enough to "pose" it for me just where I wanted it, and stayed just long enough for me to finish painting it. They are now the proud owners of the painting too!
