Painted from a plein air reference study entitled "The Promise," this is along the shore of Lake Michigan near Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. This particular spot holds a great deal of emotional significance for me personally as the plein air study was done the day after my father passed away. Being there painting next to the water was very healing at a difficult time.
