The Power and the Glory II

This painting was included in the American Impressionist Society's 15th Annual National Exhibition which was held at Abend Gallery in Denver, Colorado, October 2014. The subject is the two landmark rocks that can be seen from the Soberanes Trail at Garrapata State Park, south of Carmel, California. This was painted from a combination of reference photos I took there along with numerous plein air studies I've done of various views of this area. The waves were incredible this particular day...the largest I've ever seen while I've been there...amazing power and glorious to watch.
